Katkauli ka Maidan
Katkauli ka Maidan, in Buxar, is one of the most visited tourist attractions in and around the region. The reason for the popularity of this site is the historical Battle of Buxar which was fought here between the East India Company and Mir Qasim (Nawab of Bengal), Shuja-ud-Daulah (Nawab of Awadh) and Shah Alam II (Mughal Emperor).
The battle, that broke-out on October 22nd, 1764, is considered as a major milestone in the history of colonial rule in our country. Located at the outskirts of Buxar, the arena can be reached while moving along the main road on the way to Patna.
